Glenn & Jerry and the 70s Variety Show format

I'm very fond of Hee Haw. The Tom Jones Show and Johnny Cash's show were good too, I also like The Sha Na Na Show.
My dad was a huge fan of Hee Haw. We only had the one TV, so when Hee Haw was on, it's what we were watching. I thought it was just OK at the time (I was probably 10 or 11). It had corny jokes, cute girls, and lots of music. At the time I wasn't a fan of country, but still appreciated Roy Clark's playing and was impressed with his versatility on guitar and banjo. Didn't care for Buck too much back then, but now I'm a big fan. Go figure.

I remember Hee Haw from reruns on basic cable in the eighties. I didn’t understand it, probably because I had no context for understanding old hillbilly weirdness.

Some monster players there. I used to love the old variety shows but then again we only got 3-4 channels (on a good day) so options were limited.
