Flat Wounds on Electric... Which one?

Long story short:

While visiting a buddy who works at an unnamed local guitar manufacturer, I was gifted a pack of .010 D'Adarrio Flat Wound electric strings from the "Personal stash" of some dude named Frank G...

It seems this Frank fella swears by them. So, I figure I'll give them a go on one of my guitars, but which one?

What say you knowledgeable people of Weinworld? I already run .010s on most of my guitars anyway so it shouldn't require any adjustments afterwards right?

Strat?
Tele?
Firebird?

Serious question, what guitar/sound/style best lends itself to such wee beasties?

Whatever is easiest to change strings on so it takes you less time to go back to a proper set of roundwound strings when you don't like them.

Not quite. As far as I remember the string gauges on flat-wound sets differ from round wound sets, particularly the wounded G.

my last set of flats were on an Epi Broadway with Rose P90s in it. Sounded awesome thru a slightly cranked small tube amp for old school Jazz/Blues, but I’ve since sold that one.
Which ever one you play the least. But given those choices, if I had in mind to actually play Jazz or some old school whatever, i would probably pick the Strat and neck pickup and work on some Eldon Shamblin Western Swing rhythms.
And yea, if the 3rd is wound you might have to tweak the saddle a bit.

One of my podnahs has a Strat with flats. Neck pick up was a neat sound for recording to get a different sort of tone.

I tried them on a strat once. Didn’t do much for me. A friend had flats on his jazzmaster, that worked well

I use the 12 gauge version of those on my arch top. I'd probably go tele.
