Ted is not too far from me.
I haven’t missed a video in years now.

Once I get my Ampeg back together, I might see if he will do some work on it for me.

They have tried at times but then the purists all cry foul so it is what it is
I have owned a Les Paul with a 70s volute neck. They’re great. It’s a shame that people won’t buy them. Gibson players will buy Les Pauls with 50s necks, slim 60s necks, weird asymmetric shred necks, but not a volute. I just don’t get it.

I’ve had a 1976 Les Paul Deluxe since 1985. Over the years it’s been my most played guitar.

My brother bought a used Gibson Ripper, bass guitar during his early years of playing. It was beat to hell but sounded and played great. Someone knocked it over at a party and the headstock snapped off. He gave it to our brother-in-law, who is good at fixing things. It was not a pretty repair, yet it worked perfect. That bass is still going strong and has a unique voice in my brother's bass collection.

His bass is similar to these pics but more beat up and includes one mismatched tuner.

@jrockbridge A mismatched tuner is a great excuse for a drop D…D-tuna.

one of the paddle piece on my sterling bass was loose with no easy way to fix, so I moved the low E tuner to it’s place and dropped in one of those flippy-switch D-tunas. Pretty cool.
