Duller than cardboard
Is there a car you used to hate but eventually came around to loving (or vice versa)? For me it's the Dino 308 GT4.

I saw a few of these when I was a kid and I thought they looked weird and stubby. The 308 GTB/GTS and the Boxer looked right but the 308 GT4 looked awkward, especially with the godforsaken American bumpers. And the entire idea of adding a token set of rear seats was antithetical to what I imagined Ferraris were supposed to be. And I wasn't alone in that opinion — there was a long period when you couldn't give these things away.

Now I think they're super cool and I'd choose one over a GTB or GTS and I wouldn't hesitate. The Mondial design that replaced the GT4 is dull and underwhelming. But the GT4's wedge thing is so '70s and the Bertone design is quirky but balanced. It screams eccentricity and it has cool stance. And I think they look their best in almost any color except red.
