Cool use of Maj7th Chords

That song is totally cool.
And I am a big fan of Maj.7ths.

The song is "Beginnings" by Chicago. The voicing are pretty standard but the way they're all linked together makes it interesting. In the the stuff I play those chords usually lead to a minor chord. This is different.
