OK, this is a venue to post things you like that might be contrary to popular opinion. That opinion could be societal, musical, cultural, or really anything that you feel you exist as a contrarian.

Please remember the Weinland user rules about politics, religion, sexual and gender orientation, race, and other issues that derail threads. Thanks to Mongooz for mentioning this thread could be a shit storm. I edited this to try to keep it on the rails. This is a thread where you can talk all you want about your love of Cyndy Lauper, but not a place to discuss politicians replaced by lizard overlords.

I'll start off with a few that might hit home here;

I like the Eagles. Really.

I like Billy Joel.

I like Fleetwood Mac.

I'm not a fan of Elton John or Prince, even if I understand why others like them, they are just not my thing.

I have covered Nickelback songs.

I don't hate them. I don't listen to them on purpose.

AC/DC is one of my favorite bands.

AC/DC is also one of my favorite bands, especially their early material. Straight up simple rock and roll that just seems to work.

And, as gooz pointed out, let us NOT GET POLITICAL.
 
I've never understood the fascination with Prince. I regard him the same way as Brad Paisley -- as a musician who is obviously talented but makes music that's surprisingly dull.

I really liked Paula Abdul's first two albums. I was a little disappointed by her third -- Head Over Heels. Then she went into that American Idol nonsense, and I stopped following her career.

I love comic book movies, but I didn't like those Christopher Nolan Batman movies, and each one was worse than the one before it. I'd rather sit through a marathon of Green Lantern, Daredevil and Howard the Duck than watch The Dark Knight Rises again.

I think Florida is the worst state I have ever been to
I think Breaking Bad was a alright show, but also the most overhyped show since The Wire and it should have ended after 3 seasons
I don't think Kevin Hart is funny, he's just doing a Chris Rock impression
I like eating meat but the thought of the torment and suffering the animals went through gives me tremendous guilt and anxiety.
I love comic books but I really think super hero movies are stupid
I never thought Micheal Jackson was any good but I love Prince
I grew up watching Pro wrestling with my grandfather but hate that UFC/MMA stuff
I find misogyny vulgar and repulsive yet I do nothing to stop my friends from acting like jackasses in public
I only watched the first episode of game of thrones, I thought it was a piece of shit
 
I too hate The Doors. I just didn't get it, I guess.

And yeah, Florida is a terrible place, but it isn't the worst state I have ever visited. I live there, and it is certainly not the paradise the adverts suggest, but I have lived in worse places.
 
I like Ace of Base. I don't like Zepplin, Foo Fighters, or a hundred other epic rock bands. There's that one nickelback song I like. I try not to worry too much about what other people think.
