Help! Charvel v Charvel

So I am in the market for a new guitar, and my current choice is the Charvel Guthrie Govan. Specs are ridiculous and the tremol-no that comes standard installed is a godsend for a player like me who likes the trem-bar , but also needs to change tunings quite often.

One question that I have is: there are currently 2 version, one caramelised basswood with flamed maple top:

and one version with a caramelised solid ash body (which is slightly more expensive)

Anyone here any idea of the tonal differences between the two if there is any? Which would would you go with?

I’d go with the basswood. The ash is cool but it kind of looks like someone just oiled a kit build.

I like the basis as well. JP summed it up nicely.

Ash would probably stereotypically sound brighter in a possible bad way IMHO, though not garaunteed.

Fist Act Sheena is maple over basswood. Everybody should have a maple over basswood guitar. It looks nice too.

I'll be the dissenting opinion and say I like the plain ash better, but I have an irrational aversion to flamed or quilted maple

I’ve used the Tremol-no for about 10 years now. It will not let you change tunings. Dropped D is as far as you’re going. If you want to use alternate tunings, buy a hard tail.

To me, they both really give out a similar vibe, visually. I have always admired Charvels, but they just don't really fit my playing style.

Did Kiesel buy Charvel or something?

Of those, the ash is much more preferable. But either one would look good with a proper Charvel finish.

I like the Ash better as far as looks. The flame maple looks like someone planed the top layer off of plywood living room paneling or something. I think I have the irrational aversion to flame maple clearcoat also.

I watched a video of a guy who put the tremol-no in hardtail mode (completely blocked) ad detuned his guitar ( a PRS) down to B without issues. Of course he couldn't use the trem

If there's any obvious tonal difference I'm going to guess more "neutral" and balanced on the basswood and brighter with more overtones on the ash.
