AMPLI-FIREBOX MK II – Atomic's follow-up to its award-winning Ampli-Firebox, the world’s first high-end amp modeler in a stompbox.

The MKII contains all the key elements that made the original an award-winning, genre starter: Elite level amp modeling, user IRs, suite of core effects (drive, delay, reverb, comp, gate, eq), 1/4″ and XLR outputs, customizable interface and editor app.

Building on the success of the Ampli-Firebox Mark I, Atomic continues to evolve the platform with innovation both from our research and from customer feedback. The result includes refinements and enhancements making it even more powerful yet easier to use.

THE MKII FEATURES:

Next generation amp modeling engine including dynamic resonance control
New amp models
Headphone jack
New streamlined operating system/UI
Simplified 3-way toggle switches (one each to control amp, cab and presets)
Both footswitches completely assignable (turn on/off any effect simultaneously, select/toggle between presets or tap tempo etc)
Dedicated save function

Control lock function (so accidentally knocking a knob or switch doesn’t unintentionally change sound)
Knob position locator (LEDs temporarily flash when knobs are turned, locking solid when the preset value is reached)
New Speaker Impulses (IRs)
FX level knob (individually control or blend reverb and/or delay)
Load mode (lets user choose whether pedal boots to favorite preset, WYSIWIG or last state)
Sleeker look

The Ampli-Firebox MKII is the perfect amp-modeling centerpiece to a guitarist’s pedal board or standalone solution into an amp, direct to front-of-house or for recording. It’s also an ideal portable silent practice solution and no compromise backup rig.

Yeah, that might be an even better option for you than the Iridium.
I'd be interested in pairing it with one of the Line 6 doohickeys just for shits and giggles.

I have the MKI. I like it for the deluxe reverb sound. I’d give it a spin. The MKI has a power amp modeling section and works pretty good as a pedal platform.

I struggle with the MKI and tight higher gain stuff. It’s a little too loose.

Once a couple reviews come in I may spring for the MKII and give it a whirl.

I know I've mentioned it before, but a friend of mine has the fancier one and it sounds fantastic. He runs it through a Mission powered cab.

I figured that I would end up getting a second device like this once gigs started opening up again to make my life easier between the recording and gig stuff. I was originally thinking about an HX stomp but I'm still kind of allergic to Line 6 for historical reasons that make no sense whatsoever. This might fill that need....

The bigger one has effects and everything but seemed way to have way too much going on for me. I think this one would be great for you to use with your board. I will say the one my friend has sounds better than any clip of the Iridium I've seen. Granted, I've only heard the Iridium via my computer and youtube and I got to play the other (and had some way better guitar players than me play it in the room with me.) So not a fair comparison by any stretch, I know the Iridium would sound better in the room with me than a youtube clip.

You would think by now they would all just send you free stuff to put in your videos.
I wish. I would need about 10k more subscribers before anyone pays any attention to me. I’m still small potatoes in the world of YouTuBe guitar.

From what I understand, the MKII has updated models of the Vox and Fender Deluxe, but otherwise most of the changes are more functional than sonic (not that that's a bad thing). I never found the supposed "issues" in the MKI to be problematic, but I know some complained loudly about the lack of a headphone jack and some of the other things that are implemented in the new version.

Is there one of these IR amp pedals that also has the small powered output as well? Like if the next version of the Seymour Duncan Power Stage allowed you to load in a handful of your own mic and cab IRs...
