The April Fool's Metamorphosis Challenge
Take any song in any genre and re-interpret it into another style...redo a metal song as country, or a jazz song as folk...the possibilities are endless...and terrifying...

First up, @Knox in Box does something with an REM song...

Jello: Don't know the original, but I liked this. Your vocals are a bit lost in the mix, but it may be that I'm listening on a mobile device. Great vocals though, they deserve more of the spotlight. Okay, I think I know what it was, you set the level for the bridge where it set perfectly, the verses should have been raised though.

It has to be your device, Knox...the vocals are far from burried...I don't mix for mono, so that may be the issue, they're pretty spread out...
 
Knox--i don't know the source material, but this is a great blend of traditional and electronic sounds--they sit together nicely. Your voice is Stipey without sounding imitative.

Jello, that sounds great! I don't know the original. I know you've been learning about mixing, and I hear restraint here--any bells and whistles you're using serve the song, as it's not distracting, even though I was listening specifically to the mix.

Yeah, I really try to mix for the song and not make it about "hey look what I can do"...I did get a little fancy with the accent and solo guitar parts but it isn't intrusive...
