BTW, I work in Escondido, where Carvin's plant was for many years. I think they just moved a few miles away though, Rancho Bernardo or something. I should look into a tour.
All I got to see at Gibson was the showcase (monster retail store of the finest Gibsons you'll EVER hold.) and some banjo building. It was cool, but not a real "tour" or anything.. Their acoustic wall was pure bliss..
I really think that raid has been overblown. From what I've read, Gibson was duped. You'd think they, being experienced in wood identification and all that, would have realized what they were getting. But I don't think they did anything wrong. I could be mistaken, but everything I've read makes it sound like the middle man was the one running the scam and Gibson was just buying lumber. Sure would like to have one of the affected serial numbers though!
Play one, you might break that PRS habit.. Or at least you migth have another habit to go along with it.
I played a used one for just a little bit and wasn't digging it. It was the SC90 IIRC and on top of not digging the feel it was UGLY.
I do stop by a look at those CT's every once and awhile though. It's mighty tempting.
