2016 Concerts

Too busy. Two small girls!

However I do have tickets for Queen and Adam Lambert in May.

He certainly can sing so should be good

I saw them last year. It was very good. Not Freddie good (nobody could be) but pretty damn good. He's a pretty good replacement.

This year I've seen Tommy Emmanuel and might see him again...but no plans as yet for that or any other concerts

I'm booked for Iron Maiden and ZZzzz Top; will have to look out for indie stuff and jazzers as they pass through.

I am going to go to Explosions in the Sky and Bob Mould, not at the same time but both at the 9:30 Club. I may go see Weezer and Black Sabbath over summer, again not the same show, but 2 nights in a row.

Going to see Peter Gabriel at the Verizon Center on June 23. There's some other guy that'll be playing too from the Police.:thu:

Very excited despite the massive venue and nosebleed tix. I should have joined Sting's fan club to take advantage of Friday's pre-sale to get better tickets, but I can't do anything about that now...wait better seats got freed...anyone want to buy these two?

There aren't many bands I would go to the Verizon center to see. I don't like big indoor shows the Filmore and 9:30 are about as big as I like to go.

Feb 18th - Anderson East
Feb 19th - Jason Isbell
April 5th - Ani DiFranco
Sept 14th - Jason Isbell (at RED ROCKS!!!!)

I'm sure I'll fill in quite a few more.

Okay, found another one I need to add:

March 15th - Drive-by Truckers

Bill Frisell is playing the Barns at Wolf Trap on Feb 7
The Robert Cray Band is playing the Birchmere on Feb 23
Sean Watkins is playing the Barns at Wolf Trap on April 2
JJ Grey and the MoFro are playing the Birchmere on April 13
Julian Lage is playing the Barns at Wolf Trap on Cinco de Mayo
Avett Bros at George Mason on May 15

I want to see ALL of these shows.

I have tickets to none of these shows.

I am unlikely to get tickets to more than a couple (if that).

I will probably see none of these shows.

I will be stoic outwardly, but be weeping inwardly.

I have to see Gabriel and can't be choosy about the venue and therefore won't be. But I hear you.

Going to be seeing Todd Rundgren tonight - I understand it's Todd on guitars and vocals, Jesse Gress on 2nd guitar and vocals, Kasim Sulton on bass and vocals and Prairie Prince on kit drums. I know literally nothing else, it was kind of a belated birthday gift for a friend who I haven't gone to a show with in a while. Ought to be interesting, a neighboring city built a large brand new state of the art concert hall for several million dollars and this is one of the first shows there, ought to be interesting.
