2003 Sasa Ridicic SD40

Pre

-Owned 2003 Sasa Ridicic SD40 with French Polished Spruce and Flamed Maple.

Sasa Ridicic is one of the finest Classical Guitar luthiers in the United States. This guitar is incredibly light and sweet sounding guitar. It has a French Polished Spruce top and highly figured book-matched flame maple back and sides.

This Torres style classical guitar with stunning flame Maple back and sides handcut by Sasha Ridicic. It has an extremely fine European spruce top. This entire instrument is French polished with Sasha's special golden blend ~ so called German Stock.

All the marquetry, to the ultra detailed design on the headstock, to the back center strip, to the top and side purfling, to the rosette, are all painstakingly handmade & inlaid by Sasha. The rosette woods are Maple, Cherry, & Ebony. The checker marquetry on this outstanding SD40 is comprised of Maple & Rosewood.
The neck is made from a high quality Honduran Mahogany. The body is also bound in Honduran Mahogany.

The gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood bridge has gold Mother-of-Pearl slotting diamond wing inlays. It also has an Ebony fingerboard with Ebony binding & Holland medium frets. This Sasa Ridicic has the classic and comfortable 1 7/8" nut width.

This is an extraordinary concert level classical guitar. Sasa Ridicic makes a very limited amount of instruments that they are able to put a tremendous amount of attention in. This guitar is truly superb in tone as well as aesthetics and would be a great instrument to add to any collection.

This guitar is in excellent condition with very minor play wear or fretwear which we attempted to represent in the photos.

Includes Original Hardshell case

I have no need for a classical guitar, but that is a really nice one. At one point I had decided to learn classical the correct way, but then realized it was going to require years of formal lessons. Not something that you can do correctly on your own.

If you know how to sight read music notation it should be easy to learn classical on your own via the internet. Just spend a few years playing through etudes, that’s what they’re for.

Everyone needs a classical guitar!

Anyway, it is my belief that this guitar is quite a handsome instrument.

But, not having experienced the work of the luthier, I'd obviously want to play it before even thinking about buying it.

I actually started down that road, but at least in my experience, technique is so much more key in formal classical playing than in a lot of other disciplines on the guitar. Just to sit and play a classical is a lot of fun and the wide neck makes single note playing a lot easier than a traditional acoustic.

That really is a beautiful guitar. Like others, though, I can only appreciate it from a distance, because I just couldn't do a classical guitar justice.
