Its a Soloist. I believe I bought it in 1986, or 87. Had it with me in the Air Force, and used it thru the 90s. It probably hasnt been turned on since like 2000, so no idea if it still works. Uses 8x AA batteries, or, according to the back, a 6.4 vdc adapter, NOT a 9v. I SHOULD have the adapter somewhere, just I havent seen it in years and no idea where its at.
