The weather

We’re actually going to get some in Canada this time.

Lots of snow on the way and that polar vortex will get us here too.

Not looking forward to this. It’s the ice storms that’s the killer and we’re expected to get hit. So power most likely will go out. Back up heat, have about 2 to 3 days without having to leave the house. Filled the generator and about 3 full days of fuel in jugs. But don’t run it full time. It’s just me and the pups. My lady is visiting family in California until the middle of next week.

The school my wife teaches at has already closed school for tomorrow (-5 wind chill and good chance of snow).... but of course I'll still have to come into the office... so fuck me. :helper:

We are expecting an extended freeze and frozen precip over the weekend. Of course that puts people here in full panic mode.

I went to the grocery store to score lunch earlier, wow that was a bad mistake.

I’ll post the temps when I get up tomorrow. Like I said it’s going to be cold and windy. Chicago is an amazing city, if we didn’t have the winters we do we’d have another ten million people moving here.

I'm a teacher and I've had to work one day this week. I was working outside this afternoon for about five minutes without gloves and it was really, really painful. Tomorrow's supposed to be even colder and has already been called for most of the schools in the area.

Welp, it's not even cold yet, and there are multiple reports of utility pole fires causing outages in central Texas. Fortunately, not in our neighborhood yet. :annoyed:

Im right at the projected frozen rain line but it's looking like it will just miss me. Will def get some frozen spots on the roads and bridges regardless.
I just hope the power stays on afterwards. Got my propane tanks filled and my Jackery charged up.
