That's a high Niveau complaint right there. Maybe in his Genesis days, I wouldn't really know.Peter Gabriel.
True story: I first heard "Sultans of Swing" in 1978 driving home from working at the Ovens of Britanny and burst in, telling my lover (now Mrs. bsman) "I just heard the baddest new Dylan song in 15 years!"Mark is an obvious choice by proxy. My dad has told me a few times about when he and some of his friends first heard Dire Straits they were wondering when and where Dylan got this amazing guitar player. When they finally found out that it wasn't Dylan, they were all quite surprised. Knopfler definitely has a Dylan-esque quality, but seems to have been a "better" singer overall. Less whiny in tone, but very similar tone and vibe.
Yes, especially his Genesis days. He's good when he sings within his range, but he spent a lot of time out of it in Genesis. That's a high Niveau complaint right there. Maybe in his Genesis days, I wouldn't really know.
I never understood anything about her popularity.Amy Winehouse. Love her and her artistry but the vox is iffy especially live.
