I thought the same thing... but the Bourne Identity came out in 2002 and Long Kiss came out in 96. I suppose the screen writer(s) could have read the Ludlum book which came out in the 80's... but overall it still holds up for the most part all these years later.

Yeah, I thought it might have been influenced by the books. I read them when they came out. I still liked it on its own, though.
