Give me something to watch on Netflix

We watched "Lou" because I haven't seen any bad movie with Allison Janny in it. It starts of pretty good. Janny brings a pretty good intensity to an intense role. But the further it goes along, the weaker it gets. Never gets bad, but not great.

New season of Gen V is out. Still fun so far, but some of the not-so-veiled social commentary that used to be kinda "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" feels kinda icky now.

I just finished Apple TV "Chief Of War." It has a fair amount of mayhem, visceral violence and death. Very little of the dialogue is spoken in English, so the viewer has to read captioned dialogue. I was transported to another time, another place, a different culture. I found the story compelling. It's probably not for everyone due to the graphic portrayal of violence and war.

The show was originally conceived as a limited series. Apple has not yet confirmed whether or not they will create a 2nd season. However, it does end in a spot where it's teed up for a 2nd season storyline.

Just finished bingeing Twisted Metal season 2. Good fun. The dialogue is absolutely terrible in parts, laughable, I can't remember if season 1 was the same. Would watch a season 3 if it gets made. Nice half hour no brainer quite funny entertainment.

Also working my way through Billy The Kid on Prime. Slow burner (I'm halfway through season 1) but it's definitely got potential.

EDIT: we're good to a cabin for the weekend so planning on bingeing Wednesday series 2.

Just finished Alien Earth (FX, Hulu, Disney). It starts out mediocre and gets dumber with each episode. So much wrong in one series. The visual effects are cool.

Rotten Tomatoes audience score is 67%. That score is much too optimistic.

After the disaster of Prometheus, I gave up on the Alien franchise. The first two movies are the only thing worth watching. Everything else is trash.

I finally started Stranger Things because my kid wanted to watch it. It's good enough to work out to--does it ever fall off? Is there a point I should stop at?

True. And, Alien Earth is worse than Prometheus IMO.

I enjoyed seasons 1 & 2. 3 not so much. Season 5 is coming at the end of November.

I just finished Black Rabbit. What a crazy ride. Highly recommended.
Thanks for mentioning this series. I watched it based on your recommendation. Good call.

The husband-and-wife duo (Zach Baylin and Kate Susman), who co-wrote the series, deserve a lot of the credit for why it’s good. It was well written.

We've been enjoying HBO's Task. It's an FBI Task force vs. biker gang vs. people ripping off the biker gang drama. Lots of twists and turns.
Starring Mark 'the buffalo' Ruffalo. Don't get him mad.

I've been liking it also. HBO dramas usually are very good. Having grown up in the area the show takes place, I like knowing all the references.
